A spiritual person is one who is full of pain

Spiritual meekness is one thing, but softness due to indifference is something entirely different. Some say, ‘I am a Christian, and therefore I must be joyful and at peace.’ But such people are not true Christians. That is indifference; that is worldly joy. A person who embraces such worldly principles is not a spiritual person.

A spiritual person is one who is full of pain—that is, he suffers because of what is happening, he suffers for the sake of others. And it is precisely because of this pain that he is granted spiritual consolation.
